Village Green

There is a small village green by the side of the B4362 and Hanbury Green where you can find the Shobdon War Memorial, old cider mill and press and the Methodist Chapel. An act of remembrance is held by the war memorial every November and this is also where you can find every December the Parish Christmas Tree!

Bar Meadow Playground

The playground at Bar Meadow (next to the village shop) was completely refurbished in 2018 after funds were provided by the Parish Council, community fundraising (particularly the Food and Flying Festival) and a grant of over £20,000 from the European Leader Fund. The play area is a wonderful resource for the community and thanks to all those who gave their time and effort to make the project a reality.

Field between the Grove and Bateman Close

The Parish Council purchased the field as part of their project to provide a safe cycle/walking path through the village. After consultation with the parish, it was agreed that alongside the path, the rest of the field be kept as a green open space with some wildflower and tree planting, and benches. A number of trees have already been planted and wildflowers sown, and the Parish Council is in the process of finalising an “adopt a tree scheme” for the field.
